2025 was the year that Gnosis completed its pivot to becoming a consumer facing brand and solidified its mission of bridging the gap between blockchain technology and practical, everyday applications for the masses. After years of building some of the most battle-tested infrastructure in the Ethereum ecosystem with Safe and Cow Swap, Gnosis launched a suite of consumer products on top of its open stack so that users own the rails they transact on. 

Building open systems that put the user first has always been a north star for us. Now, we’re building unstoppable products with killer UX without cutting corners on the promise of blockchain tech: effortless self-custody with rewards that introduce better money, and rails that stay credibly neutral at scale.

Here’s the breakdown of this momentous year where Gnosis hit escape velocity by making inroads to accessing customers and businesses beyond web3.

Consumer Applications & Adoption

2025 saw the Gnosis ecosystem transition from "Web3 infrastructure" to "Everyday utility," making inroads with users and businesses far beyond the crypto-native bubble.

• Gnosis Pay Evolution:

  • Brazil Expansion: Successfully launched in Brazil (April), enabling thousands of users to spend crypto at local merchants with zero FX fees.

  • B2B SDK: Released the Gnosis Pay SDK (July), allowing any business to integrate white-label cards, treasury on-ramps, and stablecoin payroll.

  • Volume Milestone: Surpassed $100 million in lifetime transaction volume (October) and processed our 2 millionth real-world payment (December).

• The Gnosis App: Soft-launched the Gnosis App to the waitlist (November), uniting self-custody with a seamless mobile banking experience.

Gnosis Business: Formally rebranded the HQ acquisition into Gnosis Business, providing a dedicated B2B arm for corporate cards, compliance, and expense management.

Technical Milestones & Infrastructure

Reliable infrastructure is the backbone of Gnosis. In 2025, we celebrated a decade of uptime while pushing the boundaries of throughput and security.

• 10 Years of Gnosis: Celebrated a decade of building in August, crossing 300 million lifetime transactions on Gnosis Chain with zero downtime.

• The Pectra Upgrade: Successfully activated Pectra on Gnosis Chain (April), pushing throughput past 2x previous levels and introducing native account abstraction.

• Trust-Based Currencies: Launched Circles v2 (May) and the Circles SDK v1 (November), which crossed 10,000 active humans in just weeks, proving the demand for community-driven money.

AI & Agent Economy

Gnosis continues to lead the "Agentic Web," ensuring that as AI moves on-chain, it does so securely and autonomously.

• Safe Watch Agent: The Gnosis AI team open-sourced the Safe Watch Agent (June), a 24/7 proactive defense layer that monitors Safe wallets and blocks malicious transactions before execution.

The Agent Stack: Furthered the integration of AI agents as primary users of Gnosis Chain, reinforcing our position as the preferred home for the autonomous economy.

Strategic Growth & Ecosystem

We united our diverse product suite under a single, coherent story: Ownership by Default.

• The 2025 Rebrand: Launched a new visual identity and the rallying cry: "Fork Banks. Bank On Gnosis." (November). This unified Gnosis App, Pay, Circles, and Business under one roof.

• Real-World Assets (RWA): Launched ZCHF in partnership with Zeal (September), the first fully collateralized, yield-bearing Swiss franc stablecoin, bringing a new level of composability to RWAs.

• DappCon 2025: Hosted our flagship event in Berlin (June), gathering the world's leading builders to focus on the pivot to consumer-facing applications.

Since 2015, Gnosis has shipped some of crypto’s most trusted building blocks. We advanced many of the things that now make mainstream adoption possible.

But, as we’ve shared all year long, if values-driven projects like Gnosis don’t step up to compete for mass adoption, incumbents will use blockchain as a backend upgrade while keeping their extractive business models intact. New entities will “win” but it will change nothing but the tech stack.

We are not simply building onchain banks. We are building the post-bank future, a financial paradigm where the value created flows to the user, not from them.
