Just hours after the Gnosis Merge last week on December 8th, 2022 Gnosis Chain went from being secured by 20 entities ever producing blocks on the legacy Proof-of-Authority consensus to over 200 validators participating in the new Proof-of-Stake consensus. According to Dune Analytics 111,064 validators are currently participating in consensus on Gnosis Chain. That number is second only to Ethereum. It also means that Gnosis Chain is far more decentralized than it was just one week ago.
In the coming years this number will continue to rise. Growing a geographically diverse community of validators around the world is critical to ensuring that Gnosis Chain is a credibly neutral, unstoppable network. This week the GnosisDAO and MakerDAO announced a strategic alliance. Core contributor, Karpatkey authored the original proposal on the Maker Forum and lead coordination. Most importantly, the partnership will help to grow the Gnosis Chain ecosystem.
The DAI generated by the vault will be used to support the development of the Gnosis Chain ecosystem by expanding its protocols, improving its infrastructure, and keeping gas fees low. This will make Gnosis Chain even more attractive to users across the DeFi ecosystem.

The Gnosis Guild team built a new Zodiac module for Open Zeppelin’s Governor. With the governor mod, multisigs can now easily become a DAO with on-chain voting by simply equipping an OpenZeppelin Governor contract as a Safe module.
